Listening on the radio, sounds like they just called a 4th alarm. More trucks incoming.

Fuuuuuck. Saw the scanner messages on Twitter. Those apartments were going to help Everett in the long term and now with them a total loss, the city is going to be reeling from this for years...

I remember when a big development like that went up in Renton, you could see the smoke in Bellevue.
I have a friend who lives in a disco-era condo on Grand, I bet he’s having a fun evening.

I’d assume they’d be insured, and would just get built again?
We had a complex here get burned down as it was nearing completion a few years ago, but it’s open and leasing now.
4/2017: Close to done:
7/2017: Arson! https://www.boston.com/news/local-news/2017/07/23/8-photos-from-the-8-alarm-waltham-apartment-building-fire
4/2018: All gone:
8/2018: Halfway back:
6/2019: Just about done:
So yeah, a bit less than a two year delay, but it did get rebuilt.

Yeah, I’m just worried about how much this might impact housing in Everett -- the entire County is in sore need of new housing, and very few developers are getting into building apartment complexes. The fact that this particular project burned down halfway through the project tells me it’s likely an arson meant to keep rents and property values high.
